The love story between Thuin and inland water transport is old and long. At the start of the 20e century, Thuin had some 1100 boatmen as heads of family on a population of 5000 inhabitants. We offer you an opportunity to come and visit the fascinating world of inland water transport. Discover on board of our barge-museum the life of the boatmen in Thuin, scale models, documents from events during the war...
Winter : only with bookings for groups.
Location : Thuin, lower town, "quai de Sambre", right bank.
Access: E19 Brussels-Paris. Exit 20 (Feluy), N59 to Thuin - E42 Mons-Charleroi. Exit 18 (Chapelle-lez-Herlaimont). N59 to Thuin - per train : Charleroi-Erquelinnes. Station of Thuin.
Duration: +/- 45 min. with a guide on board.
Space is provided for wheelchairs.
Groups (a minimum of 20 persons): all day by appointment from 10 am to 6 pm.
Free of charge for accompanied children younger than 12 years.
